Three years ago, on Lag B'Omer, I
noted that the Eukaryotes arose in what corresponds to the fifth week of
the Omer period. The earliest traces of Eukaryotes
seem to be 2.7 billion years old, nine days in the
mapping to the Omer. In other words, the Eukaryotes appeared on "Lag B'Omer."
